I want to be clear about the steps I am taking to prioritize the health and safety of both my clients and myself and family. The following is a work in progress and will be adjusted as needed based on the current conditions and CDC recommendations going forward.
As of 1/1/24: MY STAY SAFE PLAN
I am up to date on Covid vaccinations.
I promise to stay home and follow Department of Health guidelines if I experience any symptoms or don't feel well. I will communicate directly to clients about any known Covid exposures.
My location is a small 10 office building with one shared bathroom. Masks are now optional in the common spaces of our building. The HVAC in the building is newer and meets all ASHRAE standards for good ventilation.
Room furnishings are designed to be sanitary and all surfaces are easily disinfected. No open shelving for supply or linen storage, no fabric or cloth materials other than clean linens on massage table.
2 Medical grade HEPA air purifiers will be on in the treatment room 24/7.
I will be allowing a minimum of 30 minutes in between clients in order to clean, disinfect and ventilate the room.
I am wearing a mask for entire duration of session.
All high touch surfaces are properly cleaned and disinfected with EPA approved cleaners in between each session.
Standard precautions are followed as always to prevent the spread of disease.
CLIENT AGREES TO
I would prefer that you wear a KN-95 or similar mask during the session. I have a mask if you need one. Masks are not optional at this time. Please be sure that you are comfortable wearing one of these masks and please ask me if you have any questions.
Before booking a session please consider the following questions:
Have you recently recovered from Covid-19? Please let me know if you've recently had Covid-19 so I can screen for post-Covid symptoms.
Do you have any of the following symptoms: Please let me know and we can reschedule your session.
fever of 100.4 or higher
cough
shortness of breath
congestion or runny nose
chills
extreme fatigue
sore throat or scratchy throat
headache or muscle aches (that aren't chronic or due to known health condition)
Does anyone in your household currently have Covid-19? Please let me know and we can reschedule your session.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE FOR A SESSION
Come on in! If my door is open then I'm ready for you. My studio is the last door on the right at the end of the hall.
A KN-95 mask will be available for you in the studio if you need one.
Prior to your first session, I will ask you to sign an informed consent that states that you are fully aware that the close contact involved in receiving massage is a risk factor for Covid-19 infection. I can't remove the risk, but the precautions we take will lower the risk as much as is within our control.
PLEASE REMEMBER
Services may be changed or altered to follow stay safe guidelines.
Last minute cancellations are a part of staying safe during Covid-19. Please try to give 24 hours notice for cancellations whenever possible.
Please alert me if you test positive for Covid within 2 weeks of our session. I will do the same.
Please respect my intention to offer high quality health care at an affordable rate by giving at least 24 hours notice in advance of an appointment if it is necessary to cancel or reschedule. In the time of Covid-19 it is of the utmost importance that you cancel your appointment if you or anyone in your bubble are having symptoms. Effective January 15, 2023, appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged 50% of the appointment fee, minus sales tax. This policy applies to all appointments, for both new and existing patients. Cancellation fees will not be waived for cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment time due to COVID-19 exposure, quarantine, or diagnosis, or other colds, flus, or illnesses. Vessel Healing Arts is a small business without the ability to withstand the inconsistency and uncertainty of multiple cancellations each week, I hope you understand this change is crucial for the survival of this practice. Please continue to stay home when sick, I appreciate our shared commitment to a safe, healthy and sustainable therapeutic relationship.
Any client 15 minutes late or more that hasn’t called will be considered a no-show. No-show appointments will be charged the regular fee (minus sales tax) for that appointment.
LATE POLICY & SESSION TIMING
When arriving late to an appointment, please call or text Susie at 612 424 0294. Please note that your session may be shortened at Susie’s discretion in order to keep on schedule for other appointments that day. If Susie is running late then no time will be subtracted from your session, of course.
Sessions last the length of time stated when booking an appointment. For example, a 60 minute session starting at 4pm will end at 5pm. Because your time is valuable and I want you to get the most out of the time we have, please be ready to begin the session at the scheduled time.
SALES TAX & PAYMENT POLICY
Massage therapy in Minneapolis is a taxable service and subject to 9.025% MN State Sales Tax. Exemptions are made in cases of clients who provide a written referral from a licensed health care facility or professional indicating the massage is for ongoing treatment of illness, injury or disease. I encourage each of you to ask your doctor or chiropractor for a prescription which would exempt you from the tax. This is over $9 savings per hour of bodywork.
Payment is due at the time of the session. Other arrangements may be made by contacting Susie prior to the session. For payments made at a later date through auto insurance, sessions are billed at a rate of $40 per 15 minute unit.
NECESSARY DISCLAIMER (IN ADHERANCE TO MN STATE LAW)
Clients must be 18 years of age to receive bodywork services OR must be accompanied by parent or guardian. ID required.
All services are professional, non-sexual and follow the professional code of ethics. Anyone in violation of this policy will be immediately escorted off the premises and reported to the police.
PRIVACY POLICY & MN CAM LAW
Because massage therapists are not regulated by a MN State license, we operate under a law called Complementary and Alternative Medicine law. The purpose of this law is to protect consumers and provide transparency about practitioner training. I will provide you with a copy of the Client Bill of Rights as required by the MN CAM law. You will need to sign this form and I will keep it on record.
All client information and records are secure and confidential. I do not share or sell my clients information . I strive to adhere to and follow all laws and regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as well as the Minnesota Complementary and Alternative Medicine law.
By scheduling an appointment, you automatically agree to the policies and procedures outlined above. Thank you!
